Lewisites supported grass roots planning efforts, assisting an ad hoc group of citizens/ leverage their commitment from the U.S., EPA, and Doe Run. They were able to reenergize their home town and win federal grant
monies for a local trail system

Community efforts included cleanups on the Mississippi Riverfront, assisted by the local MO CleanStream group. |

Lewisites has also created
a thorough GIS of the community that has been a resource to Doe Run,
the EPA, and the community. |
